We saw a squirrel in the back garden this week which caused great excitement and I saw actor Rufus Sewell at the restaurant on the corner on Friday- very nice! I looked at him for too long but he smiled at me as he walked past!
We ventured out of the house on Sunday to purchase a new kettle and toaster which came with a free jaffle iron! We were so excited we went straight home and made my childhood favorites- toasted Vegemite and cheese sandwiches!
Monday was the coldest day we have had since we moved to London- a chilly 10 degrees not including wind chill. We rugged up and headed out for a day at the Tate Modern. It was fun battling through the wind and rain on the walk from the tube to the Tate. We were not the only people who thought it was a good day to visit the galleries- it was packed! The highlight for me was Auguste Rodin's The Kiss which I did not even know was at the Tate, I just rounded the corner and there it was. We headed up to the restaurant on the top floor and were lucky enough to get a table with the most stunning views of London from across the Thames. It was rainy and windy but totally breathtaking and it made us very excited to be here!
As the Globe in right next door we decided to drop in on the gift shop before heading back over the Millennium Bridge into the heart of the city. Unfortunately the weather did not let us enjoy the stunning views from the bridge as we had to put our heads down and hurry as it was raining and way too windy to use an umbrella!
All in all a fabulous weekend.
