Syon House

Since we have had to handover most of our travel fund to return to Australia next month we are holidaying in London and surrounds this Easter.

We spent Good Friday at Syon House, about 40 minutes from Hammersmith. The house has been used in lots of films including Gosford Park and even an episode of Poirot! Unfortunately the roof was being fixed (at a cost of £40 million!) so the castle like effect from the front was ruined.

Time Team actually did a dig here to try to find out about the abbey which was on the site during the Middle Ages which we actually watched in Australia.

It was sunny but freezing- we actually wore our thermals! It was so windy we were getting blown about and our faces were red and stinging by the time we got home.
