Want to feel short, pasty and unattractive? Then visit Copenhagen! I have never seen so many attractive people in my life! The city of Copenhagen is very beautiful too. Clean, brisk and so polite it is a very easy city to enjoy. We spent Friday night enjoying a three course dinner on the famous Nyhavn port, looking out at sailing boats, grand European buildings and brightly painted terraced houses eating lobster and drinking Carlsberg.

We set off on Saturday to see the fairytale castle Frederiksborg Slot in Hillerod, a little town just 30 minutes out of the city. The castle is beautiful and has a huge moat and sprawling grounds. We had lunch at the pub in the village square, all the bar staff gathered around to translate the menu for us- all different types of Smorrebrod (Danish open faced sandwiches). There were some yummy parts and some not so yummy parts!
Sunday was our anniversary so we spent the day wandering around the city, exploring the parks and touring the canals. We went to Rosenborg Slot in the city gardens, it is the girliest castle I have ever seen! There were huge, ornate bird cages and beautiful plants and flowers. The castle had a kitchen garden called the Fairytale Garden which I just loved. It even had potbellied pigs!!!!! It made my anniversary! Dan was not as excited about the pigs as I was.Monday was sunny and warm with a crisp breeze, we were very sad to be leaving this gorgeous city- if you have ever toyed with the idea of visiting Copenhagen- do it!
